Brandi Ellis was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive lobular breast cancer in 2020, a life-changing experience that led to a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. Throughout her journey, she faced the battle with strength and purpose, demonstrating resilience to her children and team members alike.

Now with no evidence of disease (NED) for over four years, Brandi is dedicated to making healthy choices for herself and her family. Since her recovery, she has been committed to paying it forward by helping others advocate for the care they need and supporting them through their own journeys.

In her free time, Brandi enjoys watching her twin daughters play volleyball, visiting her son at college, spending quality time with her husband, and working out at Orangetheory Fitness. As a devoted wife and mother, she is also passionate about advocating for early screenings and breast cancer awareness, with the goal of inspiring others to take charge of their health and prioritize prevention.

Dr. Amber Lopez-Lasater

Dr. Amber Lopez Lasater considers herself one of the fortunate ones. Diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2022, she detected the disease early, before it could progress further. Fueled by an unyielding commitment to her health and family, Amber chose an aggressive treatment. Just nine weeks after her diagnosis, she underwent a double mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction surgery at UCLA. Through it all, her greatest source of strength came from her family and friends—her unwavering support system.

Now a passionate advocate for early detection and proactive healthcare, Amber uses her journey to inspire others to prioritize their well-being. She emphasizes that early action saves lives, allowing us more time with the people we love. Beyond her advocacy work, Amber enjoys time with her family and making new memories. She finds joy in quiet reflection and deep connection with her loved ones, knowing firsthand the profound value of time and health. Her journey is a testament to resilience, community, and the power of transforming personal challenges into opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others.

At just 23 years old, Jennifer “JayBee” Beasley was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a battle that reshaped her life and ignited her passion for advocacy, storytelling, and philanthropy. Now a proud survivor, JayBee uses her journey to inspire others, proving that resilience and purpose can emerge from even the most challenging experiences.

JayBee is the author of “Straight Outta Chemo: A Fight for Love and Life,” available on Amazon, where she shares her deeply personal journey through cancer, love, and self-discovery. She also took the TEDx stage to deliver “Celebrate Your Cancer,” a powerful talk encouraging others to shift their perspective on adversity and find strength in their struggles.

Her mission extends far beyond her own story—she is committed to uplifting others affected by cancer, particularly within the sports community, where she hopes to create greater awareness and support for those facing similar battles. As the arena host for the Henderson Silver Knights and the Vegas Knight Hawks, JayBee is deeply embedded in the sports world, using her voice and energy to engage fans while also advocating for causes close to her heart.

Currently, JayBee is on a mission to raise $20,000 for the American Cancer Society, a cause that is not just personal but deeply embedded in her life’s work. She is passionate about uniting the world of athletics with cancer awareness and fundraising, ensuring that those affected—whether athletes, coaches, or fans—have the resources and support they need.

With a long-term goal of becoming a Vice President of Corporate Philanthropy for a major sports team, JayBee is actively bridging the gap between sports and social impact, leveraging her experience in event management, nonprofit fundraising, and community engagement to drive meaningful change.

She is thrilled to take part in the upcoming Coaches vs. Cancer event, where she will continue using her voice, platform, and personal experience to advocate for cancer research, patient support, and the power of sports in making a difference.
