Hole Heroes

Everyone has their “why” behind the golf, and every year the Hole Hero program allows us to honor our loved ones while raising lifesaving funds for the American Cancer Society. Below are just a few of the inspiring cancer survivors we’ll be playing for.

Breast Cancer Survivor

Ira Kaganovsky Green

Entrepreneur, Founder of Freedom Deodorant

Ira Kaganovsky Green was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer in March 2022 after advocating for herself and requesting an ultrasound despite clean mammograms. A 10 cm tumor was discovered, leading her to choose a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple reconstructive surgeries. Throughout treatment, Ira leaned on her medical team at Comprehensive Cancer Centers, her survivor community, and an entrepreneurial mindset—viewing each step as progress toward recovery. She is now cancer-free and encourages others to focus on survivorship, not fear.

Prostate and Colon Cancer Survivor

Alex Garza

Community advocate for early detection and cancer research

Alex Garza is a husband and proud father of three who was first diagnosed with prostate cancer at age 46. After ignoring early warning signs for several years, his diagnosis led to aggressive treatment, including surgery, radiation, and hormone therapy. When his cancer returned a second time, Alex endured nearly 40 radiation treatments.
In 2025, Alex faced another cancer diagnosis—colon cancer—and successfully completed treatment in December of that year. Having confronted multiple cancer battles, Alex now uses his experience to advocate for early detection, patient education, and increased funding for cancer research. He is especially passionate about raising awareness of the emotional toll cancer takes on families, not just patients.

Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cancer Survivor

Dillon Cassel

College graduate, aviation professional, aspiring commercial pilot

Dillon Cassel was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020 just after graduating high school and as the COVID-19 pandemic began. Through treatment, he remained focused on his future, supported by the Comprehensive Cancer Centers medical team, family, and cancer research organizations. Now in remission, Dillon is pursuing his dream of becoming a commercial pilot and remains an advocate for funding and research that make survivorship possible.

Breast Cancer Survivor

Brandi Ellis

Mother of three

Brandi Ellis was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2020—at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation, navigating most of her treatment alone due to pandemic restrictions. Despite isolation, Brandi stayed active, committed to daily walks, and leaned on her doctors and family for strength. Now five years cancer-free, she focuses on supporting other patients and encourages grace, early detection, and resilience.

Breast Cancer Survivor & Multiple Myeloma Nearly Undetectable

Danielle Green

Owner, Radically Curly Salon

Danielle Green’s cancer journey began during a routine wellness check when bloodwork revealed multiple myeloma. A PET scan later uncovered an aggressive breast tumor, leading to a carefully coordinated treatment plan addressing both cancers. After chemotherapy, surgery showed a complete breast cancer response. Danielle credits early detection, faith, community support, and movement for her strength. Today, she continues treatment for myeloma while inspiring her clients and community to prioritize health.
